The AroundTownKids Special Events Section features "special" events for kids & families in the McKinney area such as kids concerts, Disney on Ice shows, kids theatre productions etc.  These Events are located in McKinney and in the DFW Area.

Eyes on Earth

Description: EYES ON EARTH is a new, highly interactive science exhibition that focuses on the EOS and examines how satellite observations are made and what we can learn about the Earth using space technology. Designed primarily for families and school groups (upper elementary through adults), visitors learn what a satellite is, discover the different types of orbits, and explore cutting-edge technology similar to that used by EOS scientists.  EYES ON EARTH brings these concepts “down to earth” through a combination of fun, accessible interactive displays in a playful and “spacey” environment. The exhibit explores the basics of satellites, orbits, and satellite technology
Cost: General admission is $8.75 for adults, $5.50 for children 3 to 11, and $7.75 for youth 12 to 18

Native Texas Butterflies

Location: Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

Description: Would you like to experience the splendor of native Texas butterflies? Experience the joy of being immersed among fluttering butterflies in the new 800+ square foot butterfly house!! See their beauty while getting an in-depth butterfly education. You may also get the chance to have them land on you! The exhibit also creates a beautiful place for pictures.

Rat Snakes to Rattlers: Live Texas Snakes at The Heard

Description: The most complete collection of live native Texas species assembled anywhere in the state for public viewing - about 50 different kinds organized into groups such as King Snakes, Racers, Rattlesnakes, or Water Snakes. Fascinating facts compliment each species and educational displays and fun kid’s activities!

Check out a live snake feeding every Wednesday at 3 PM! Roger Sanderson, Wildlife Biologist & Museum Curator, educates the public about snakes and their various eating habits. Don’t miss your chance to see the snakes from the Rat Snakes to Rattlers exhibit have their lunch!

Ringling Brothers Circus
