Casting is based on talent & experience, not on reading ability. Upper school (grades 6 & up) students given multiple performing opportunities to put into practice what they learned in rehearsal. Students are cast on the basis of talent & not on color, ethnicity, race, height or size. Awards given for citizenship & outstanding leadership. All roles double cast in major productions. Performances are week-ends; rehearsals after school. Performances take place at Heard Craig Hall. Partially funded by the City of McKinney. McKinney Youth Theatre is a non-profit organization.
