A Date With Santa

Description: Join us for breakfast, crafts, silent auction, and a private Date With Santa! All proceeds benefit Hope's Door, the only shelter for battered women and their children in Collin County. Santa's Workshop will also be held this year in a private dining room.  There is limited seating for this additional VIP event with Santa!

Believe! 2008

Date & Time: November 29th at 8am
Location: A start and finish in historic downtown McKinney
Description: 10K and Family 5K Fun Run/Walk has it all: a challenging 10K course, a scenic 5K course and a fun-filled one mile course. Awards will be given out for all age levels. Come early for the children's Santa Chase and a special sunrise celebration. Believe! benefits the scholarship program of Holy Family School in McKinney.

Location: Downtown Historic McKinney Square
Dates: Friday, November 28: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, November 29: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, November 30: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

An old fashioned, Victorian Christmas atmosphere with horse drawn carriages, traveling carolers, visits with Santa Claus, a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and activities for all ages. Patrons are encouraged to spend the weekend enjoying all the activities and taking advantage of the many great shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Periodically, during the month of December, the shops in downtown McKinney will stay open for extended hours so that customers have a chance to finish all of that holiday shopping in one place with over 100 boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, apparel, gifts and exquisite antiques.

Festival of Trees

Location: Stonebridge Country Club on Beacon Hill 
Description: The festival will begin with the Preview Gala and Silent Auction. A festive event, the trees, wreaths, toppers, centerpieces and gingerbread houses will be sold during a silent auction. 

 

On Sunday & Monday, the Festival will open to the general public. For a small admission fee, families may tour the decorated rooms. 
The Festival of Trees is the fall fundraiser for Project Graduation.

 

Project Graduation provides all McKinney Independent School District graduation seniors with a safe, drug-free, alcohol-free event to celebrate graduation with their friends. More important, alternative celebrations such as PG have proven to be the most effective means of preventing drug and alcohol related incidents and have saved lives in every community where they are held.


Cost: Tickets for the Preview Gala are $30 each or 2 for $50 and must be purchased in advance.  Tickets for the open house are available at the door for $ Adults; $3 Seniors and Students; $2 Children under 12.

Holiday at the Arboretum - The Nutcracker Display

Description: Come see the stately DeGolyer Mansion and gardens decorated for the holidays.

Weekend Activities include live holiday music, children's holiday crafts, photos with Santa, storytime with Mrs. Claus, meet Frosty & Rudolph and more!

Wonderland Wednesdays run December 3rd to the 17th from 11am to 1pm.  Special events scheduled just on Wednesdays!

Holidays at the Heard

Date & Time: December 6th from 11am to 3pm
Location: Heard Museum
Address: 1 Nature Place, McKinney, TX
Description: Guests will not only enjoy shopping at this market, but also taking photos with Father Christmas and Mother Nature, touring the Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit, partaking of some special refreshments, and making a special holiday craft with your children.

Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children's Christmas Parade

Location: NorthPark Center

Description: Arriving in NorthCourt between Nordstrom and Macy's, Santa Claus will be joined by NBC5 News anchor Mike Snyder, The Salvation Army Band, a host of volunteers and other special guests for a holiday parade throughout NorthPark Center as we kick off the holiday season.

Description: Santa sets up his annual village on the mall's lower level near the play area.

He will be available for photos from 11 am to 7 pm until November 26.

Starting November 28, you can visit him from 10 am to 9 pm.

Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops Classic Christmas

Date & Time: Store hours November 9th to December 24th

Description: Remember when Christmas was magical? Classic Christmas at Bass Pro Shops does!  There are over 3500 square feet of holiday magic, all for FREE! With elves, moving trains, arcades and even a free photo with Santa.

Storytime With Santa

Date & Time: Nov 28-Dec 23; 11 am and 5:30 pm Mon-Sat; Noon on Sunday.
Location: NorthPark Center

Description: Children of all ages gather to hear Santa Claus' tales about life at the North Pole with his elves and reindeer.  Santa's Storytime is held in his new traditional-style living room on Level One between Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.

The Trains at NorthPark

Cost: $5 for adults; $3 for children ages 2 to 12 years; $3 for seniors 65 years and older.  Children under 2 are admitted free of charge.

The exhibit is built around the personal train collection of Dallas resident Ban Bywaters and includes more than 40 Lionel-type-O-Gauge trains.  Bywater's vintage trains now chug along 2,500 feet of track at NorthPark Center past American landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, the Mississippi River, Dallas' Reunion Tower, a 20-foot high Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the White House and much more. 

This amazing, interactive exhibit in NorthPark Center is near the Boedeker Street entrance between Neiman Marcus and Barney's New York, Level Two. Valet parking available off the Boedeker entrance on Level Two. North Central Expressway at Northwest Highway.

The Trains at NorthPark (TM) is a captivating exhibit built exclusively for NorthPark Center.  Presented by Chase, 100% of the ticket proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, a home-away-from-home for families of hospitalized children.

Vaderville Extreme Christmas Light Show
