The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to promoting aviation studies and to perpetuating America's aviation heritage; the museum fulfills its mission by restoring, operating, maintaining and displaying historically-significant, vintage aircraft, and by collecting materials related to the history of aviation.

Dallas Children’s Museum & the Museum of Science & Nature

Four diorama halls which include fifty dioramas of Texas wildlife, each using real specimens from the Museum’s collections, including all major biotic provinces of Texas.

Other permanent halls include: Ocean Dallas, Ice Age Dallas, Paleo Prep Lab, Live Animal Room, Texas Dinosaurs Hall; Verizon Technology Center; Science Bulletins.

The Museum also has a traveling exhibits program which brings a new exhibit every 3-4 months covering a wide range of topics.

Heard Craig Historical Center

The Heard Craig Historical Center promotes the fine arts through educational programs and exhibits and honors the legacy of the Heard & Craig families through the preservation of the historic properties.

The Heard-Craig House, built in 1900, is a beautifully restored historic home located in McKinney's historic district.

Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

The Heard's indoor exhibits provide an interactive environment in which visitors can discover, enjoy and experience various aspects of the Texas natural environment. Several permanent and rotating collections.

Wildlife Sanctuary: Beautiful 289-acre sanctuary where visitors can walk on seven different nature trails. Five different ecosystems on the sanctuary including a wetlands and prairie. Home to a 2-acre native plant garden that has hundreds of native plant species. Check Heard website for seasonal garden classes and trail guide information.

Turn-of-the-century farming on the Blackland Prairies of North Texas is captured in this recently completed restoration in Plano, 20 miles north of Dallas. The Heritage Farmstead Museum offers a four acre complex with row crops, gardens, a windmill, and a handsome 1891 Victorian farmhouse with 12 original outbuildings.

"Living Breathing Texas History"

Dallas Heritage Village is a living history museum portraying life in North Texas from 1840-1910. The museum is composed of 38 historic structures & boasts a working Civil War era farm, a traditional Jewish household, elegant Victorian homes, a school, a church & commercial buildings.

Pecan Grove Cemetery

Situated on property originally granted by the Republic of Texas in 1845, Pecan Grove is the final resting place for many Texas pioneers, from Governors to gunslingers. Heroes of the Texas Revolution are interred here, as are veterans of the Mexican War, The Civil War, and every war thereafter.
