The McKinney Community Band’s virtual fall concert will feature new performances by small ensembles and popular past performances by the full band. The instrument petting zoo enables kids and adults to learn more about band instruments from members of the band. Starts @ 7 p.m. (instrument petting zoo at 5 p.m.)

Virtual Monarch Butterfly Releases

Description: Celebrate the 23rd Annual Butterfly Flutterby with the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau online and in person through live streamed butterfly releases, educational exhibits and more. Due to COVID-19, this year’s signature event will be held virtually with three different live streams releasing 600 tagged butterflies. With more than 29,000 monarch waystations in the country and 2,400 in Texas alone, Grapevine is home to several waystations throughout the community for the annual monarch migration. The exhibit will include monarch butterfly facts, live butterfly display (October 2-4, 9-11 and 14-16), educational science activities, interactive butterfly activities, photo opportunities and the chance to learn more about Monarch butterflies with the Grapevine Garden Club. The exhibit will be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays from Noon – 5 p.m. There is a max occupancy and sanitization protocols following CDC guidelines will take place every 60 minutes. VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON event.
